MALVERN’s new weekly food market is to open to the public on Saturday, April 16 – it has been announced.
As reported in the Observer last month, the new indoor market will be held at Malvern Cube each Saturday between 9am and 2pm.
Today (Wednesday), leading staff at Malvern Cube have set the opening date and are still urging interested stall holders to get in touch ahead of the big day.
Alison Chapman, the market’s manager, said: “Preparations are going well and we’ve had several calls come in interested in being part of the market.
“We still very much urging any potential stall holders interested to get in touch. We are certainly gathering momentum.”
Malvern Cube’s long-term vision plan to host a market has been supported by chiefs at both Malvern Hills District Council and Malvern Town Council.
The Observer understands the market will be the first of its kind in Malvern since more than a decade ago, possibly longer, when the town held a Friday market on the site of the current Waitrose store on Edith Walk.
Anyone wanting to get involved should contact Alison Chapman on 07969 393884 or call Malvern Cube on 01684 575363.
