FILM lovers will be able to enjoy a big screen classic under the stars as part of an event being held in the town.

Malvern Hills District Council, along with Malvern Theatres, is hosting an open air cinema screening of Steven Spielberg’s Jaws to mark the film’s 40th anniversary.

The event takes place on Sunday (September 27) in Priory Park from 8.30pm.

It will be shown on a screen the size of a double decker bus and those attending are encouraged to bring their own picnic, blankets and chairs.

Tickets are available from Malvern Theatres box office and cost £7.50 for adults, £5 for children aged 12 to 16 as the film is rated 12A.

Coun Rebecca Massey, portfolio holder for economic development and tourism at the council, said: “We are thrilled to be hosting the outdoor cinema event in Malvern with an absolute all time classic film and we are expecting to attract a large audience.

“We recommend people come early to get a good position so they can sit back, relax and enjoy what is going to be a fantastic evening.”
