MUSIC lovers have a chance to enjoy the singing voices of two choirs for the price of one when Malvern Male Voice Choir is joined by another historic group in concert.
Malvern Male Voice Choir’s next concert will see the Swindon Male Voice Choir grace the stage alongside the Malvern outfit on June 8.
The concert will feature a wide range of music including favourites from Rodgers & Hammerstein and more modern musicals, American spirituals – both very well-known and not – and a Welsh male voice choir standard.
Arrangements of folk songs will contrast in age with numbers popularised by Matt Monro, Janis Joplin and Robbie Williams, whilst film music will compete for familiarity with some other well-established classics.
A spokesman for Malvern Male Voice Choir said: “Whilst Malvern Male Voice Choir relishes that it is now 102 years old, Swindon’s longest established choir, formerly The Great Western Railway Running Sheds Male Voice Choir, is even older, having been established three years earlier in 1919.
“However, both choirs have continued to evolve as organisations fit for the 21st century and so a thoroughly impressive evening is guaranteed.
“Come and join us as we welcome a choir from across the Cotswolds, known for its high standard of singing, professionalism, and competition acclaim.”
The concert kicks off at 7.30pm on June 8 at Holy Trinity Church, Link Top, Malvern.
Tickets cost £12 (18s & under FREE). Call 07961 053860 for more information.
