THE TENTH anniversary of YMCA Malvern Vale Community Centre was celebrated on August 15.
Members of YMCA Worcestershire came together for a free, all-inclusive family funday which connected with other charities and local businesses.
Among the activities were fun runs, arts and crafts activities, dance workshops, a sensory pony encounter, meet the emergency services and more.
The Fun Day was led by YMCA Worcestershire’s Youth Team and Centre Assistants with the intention of creating a space for families to engage in a community environment at no additional cost during the current financial climate.
The free event enabled attendees to engage in circus skills activities, sports day races, beat the goalie, professional graffiti art workshops, target practice and funfair style games.
Children and families from the local estate thoroughly supported the event and made it a roaring success.
Annette Daly, YMCA Worcestershire CEO said: “It was lovely to see so many local people enjoying the activities and finding out more about us.
“We are proud to be embedded in this community and are looking forward to working with locals to extend the opportunities available.”
YMCA Malvern Vale Community Centre was established in 2012 by Malvern Hills District Council and has been run since then by YMCA Worcestershire as a versatile, supporting hub of the local community for ten years now.
It features two indoor multi-functional halls which can be hired privately, changing rooms for sport, a kitchen area, a 50-space car park and an outdoor area marked for football teams in the area.
The centre has an onsite nursery and offers an array of classes, free support, guidance and information for the community.
YMCA Worcestershire will continue to support the needs of young people and communities from their centre enabling all people to live, learn and share to build a brighter future in mind body and spirit.
