PLACES are still available for a festive community lunch being put on in Malvern for residents who have nobody to spend Christmas Day with.
Poolbrook Cafe, on Poolbrook Road, is offering a free Christmas dinner for the elderly, lonely, divorced, separated or people who, for one reason or another, would like to attend.
The cafe can cater for 20 people and eight places are still available and owner Alison Pearson is appealing for people to come forward.
“I think people are worried about transport but we have got that covered with volunteers,” she said.
“We have had more people ask to be volunteers than we have asking to come as a guest.
“We are really looking forward to giving people some joy on Christmas Day.”
Some light entertainment and a singsong is being planned for after the Christmas lunch as well as some round table party games.
Although the meal is free, the cafe is accepting donations to charity Community Action.
Anyone wanting more information or to book a place should call Alison on 07522 751448.
Alison would also like to hear from residents who could identify people who would be interested in going to the Christmas Day lunch.
