A BLOSSOMING love story between two keen horticulturists is set to embark a new chapter when a new plant nursery opens to the public this Good Friday.

Exciting times beckon for married couple Rachael and Andy Mahy who will be expanding their horticulture business to new horizons this Easter weekend by selling hundreds of their unusual variety of plants.

The pair, who live in Colwall, are expecting big numbers to attend the opening of their new trading polytunnel at Crowcroft House Farm in Leigh Sinton.

Unusual plants o the stock list include Mazus reptans, Campanula ‘Silver Bells’, Dicentra ‘Burning Hearts’ and Erodium ‘Spanish Eyes’.

The launch of the new nursery is just the latest chapter to Rachael and Andy’s romance after the pair fell in love after meeting and working in Askham Bryan College in York.

Since moving to the Malvern area, the couple have launched Wykeham Gardens which offers a garden maintenance and design service. And after successful exhibitions at farmers markets they now will sell their grown plants to the people of Malvern and beyond between now and October each year.

Rachael said: “We are really excited to be opening our new plant nursery to the public. We wanted to open on Good Friday because it is easy date for people to remember and with it being the start of the Spring season we hope many will come and take an interest in the plants we have.”

Opening times are Friday and Saturday from 10am to 4pm and Sunday between 11am and 3pm.
