Plenty to do in the Malvern Hills to celebrate King Charles III's coronation

Malvern Editorial 12th Apr, 2023   0

A VARIETY of celebrations will take place in Malvern to mark King Charles III’s coronation, writes Mia Whitehouse.

People can enjoy afternoon tea at The Cottage in the Wood Malvern and there will be the Malvern Well Dressing Festival and the Coronation Day Evensong.

The afternoon tea is served in the hotel’s 1919 restaurant, running from Mondays to Saturdays throughout the month, serving finger sandwiches, coronation chicken, fresh scones, cakes, and a choice of two sparkling wines.

The hotel gives the choice of creating a weekend of the experience.

This year’s Well Dressing Festival runs from April 29 to May 7, has water features creatively decorated in the ‘Kings and Queens’ theme, with option of exploring on foot, by bike, or on a self-drive tour.

The Choral Evensong, hosted by the Great Malvern Priory Choir, will take place at 5.30pm on May 6 to celebrate The King’s Coronation and people can join the choir for rehearsals at 3.30pm.

Visit the Royal School of Church Music website to book.

The closing date for bookings is April 27.
