Police appeal for missing Vietnamese teenager

Malvern Editorial 26th Nov, 2014 Updated: 20th Oct, 2016   0

A PUBLIC appeal has been launched to help find a teenager who has been missing for more than a week.

Tien Nguyen, 14, was last seen on Tuesday, November 18 at 4.30pm when he told his carers he was going to Great Malvern Priory Church.

But the church closed at 5pm and the Vietnamese national failed to return.

Tien is about 5 foot 7 inches tall, of medium build, with short straight brown hair and cannot speak English.

He was last seen wearing dark clothing, jeans and a black puffer jacket.

PC James McConnon said: “We are growing increasingly concerned for Tien, particularly as he is unfamiliar with the area and does not have any local language skills.

“We have some concerns that he may have been trafficked into the UK, and could be particularly vulnerable.

“We believe he is just 14 years old, however there is some suggestion that he could be older than he has said. We would urge anyone who believes they may have seen Tien or know of his whereabouts to contact police.”

Anyone with information should call police on 101 quoting incident number 631 of 18th November or alternatively pass on information anonymously to Crimestoppers by calling 0800 555111.
