MALVERN Police have issued a warning about bogus callers operating in the district, claiming to be from the ‘water board’.
It is believed the callers were distraction burglars after reports of similar encounters in other parts of Worcestershire.
In one incident a woman was distracted and the thieves entered her home and escaped with money and jewellery.
Officers have urged residents to be on their guard and not to open their doors to cold callers until they have verified their identities and that they are who they say they are.
People are also being asked to pass this information onto elderly relatives and neighbours to ensure they also remain vigilant.
