POLICE are trying to track down poachers operating in the Kempsey and Alfrick areas of Malvern.
Hare coursers have been spotted on land which, as well as being illegal, also costs farmers and landowners a lot of cash. Damage is caused by the poachers to fencing and hedges which are expensive to repair. Crops are also destroyed and the soil structure damaged by vehicles takes years to revover.
Anyone who sees hare coursing taking place, should call 999 immediately and provide as much information as they can.
It is suggested people get the What3Words location, a description of the people involved, vehicle registration numbers, vehicle descriptions and the location and direction of travel.
PCSO Jon Hand added: “However, it is very important that you don’t confront hare coursers or put yourself at risk.
“If you see anything which you feel needs police attention, or you have information about a crime or criminal activity, always ring 999 if it is an emergency or a crime in progress.”
