THE RETURN of a village store and post office to Lower Broadheath has moved a step closer following the intervention of Malvern MP Harriett Baldwin.
Volunteers from the Lower Broadheath Community Shop management team met with Mrs Baldwin and representatives from the Post Office to identify a plan for resuming postal counter services when the new village store opens later this year.
The Post Office has confirmed it is working closely with the volunteers to ensure services can be offered in the village.
Mrs Baldwin has been working hard with villagers since the old post office closed down following the closure of Lower Broadheath’s village store in May last year.
The MP said: “I have urged the Post Office to work closely with volunteers to try and resume services as quickly as possible.”
