A SERIES of bungalows are to be built in Powick after councillors gave the development the green light.
A total of four semi-detached bungalows will be constructed on Sparrowhall Lane, off the A449, after Malvern Hills District Council’s Northern Area Development Committee unanimously approved the application.
Coun Tom Wells, councillor for the area, said: “ I am pleased to see we are talking about modest two bedroom properties that people locally might be able to afford.
“I accept there is some harm, that is without doubt, but I don’t think this is setting a precedent for development on that side of the road.”
Coun Dean Clarke, councillor for Hallow, added: “I think compared with the harm we are doing with the ‘megalific’ sites we are allowing through, I would much rather see developments like this.”
