A PROLIFIC bike thief has been given a three-year Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO) banning him from certain parts of Malvern and Worcester.
The order handed to 22-year-old Ben Wilde at Kidderminster Magistrates Court – following an application by Worcester Police is aimed at stopping his persistent and ongoing crimes.
He is prevented from being in possession of a bicycle without a valid and certifiable proof of ownership, prohibited from entering the Barbourne or Arboretum areas of Worcester and identified areas of Malvern.
He cannot be in any property, including outbuildings or gardens without prior permission and is not allowed to enter any areas he is clearly restricted from.
DC Carl Shenton, Integrated offender management at Worcester Police said: “We applied for a CBO following the recent offending by Wilde and the high number of pedal cycle thefts, having acknowledged the significant impact on the victims and wider community.
“We hope the order will deter him from reoffending and enable better control of him in the community.”
Anyone who spots Wilde breaching the CBO needs to report it here on the West Mercia Police website.
