Putting their brains in the frame

Malvern Editorial 5th Nov, 2014 Updated: 20th Oct, 2016

MEMBERS of a Malvern photography group have swapped their Nikons for knowledge to appear in the BBC’s Eggheads show.

The episode will air this evening (Wednesday) on BBC2 featuring the Pixel Peepers team from the town’s very own Beacon Camera Club.

The group captained by Trevor Bell and made up of Mike Gast, Ian Thompson, Colin Walls, Cliff Williams and Peter Warner as reserve, came through a first audition in Birmingham before travelling up to Glasgow for filming of the show earlier this year.

Trevor said: “We were looked after very well during the visit to Glasgow especially in the few hours before the recording when tension was mounting and the nerves were stretched.

“The Eggheads themselves were charming, Jeremy Vine is very good at putting contestants at ease and we were satisfied with our performance and with the outcome of the contest.”

People will have to tune in at 6pm to see how the team got on.

Beacon Camera Club meets at 7.30pm every Thursday at Malvern Vale Community Centre.
