THIS quad has been seized after police spotted a man without a driving licence riding it through the streets with a four-year-old boy in the front seat.
Officers from the force operations tasking team described the incident as a ‘tragedy waiting to happen’.
They stopped the 20-year-old man in Archer Close and discovered he had no driving licence and the quad was uninsured, unregistered and had no MOT.
Police seized the vehicle and the driver was reported for the offences as well as dangerous carriage of passengers and will appear in court at a later date.
Sgt Alex Warner said: “This was clearly a tragedy waiting to happen, to carry a child in this dangerous way on an uninsured unregistered vehicle without a driving licence is totally irresponsible.
“West Mercia Police are committed to making our roads safer and will seize vehicles which are driven without insurance or a driving licence and drivers can expect a significant fine, six points on their licence and in some cases a driving ban.”
