RESIDENTS in Malvern are being encouraged to access their council tax bill online instead of receiving a paper copy through the post.
Malvern Hills District Council is urging people to sign up to its e-billing option, to provide a more environmentally friendly and convenient service for bill payers.
So far, 38 per cent of residents have already signed up to e-billing and the council’s aim for this percentage to increase.
Councillor John Gallagher, portfolio holder for resources at Malvern Hills District Council said: “This online service is beneficial to both residents and the council, it helps to save the council money on printing and postage costs, which can then be re-allocated to delivering local services.
“We encourage people to sign up and take advantage of this great online service”.
By signing up to the scheme residents will receive their council tax bills sooner and will have more flexible access to the documents via any device, wherever they are.
Residents still have the option to print their bill if they need to. Visit www.malvernhills.gov.uk/council-tax/paperless-council-tax-bill for more information and to register for e-billing.
