RESIDENTS in Martley, Knightwick and Doddenham can have their say on proposed plans for future development in the three parishes.
The draft Neighbourhood Plan, which covers the period between 2017 and 2030, sets out a vision and policies to guide development in the parishes.
The plan supports small scale development within Martley village and seeks to ensure the design and layout of any new development is in keeping with the character of the area.
It also seeks to protect the environment through the designation of nine Local Green Spaces and the protection of significant views, landscape features, heritage assets, sites of archaeological interest and valued local community facilities.
Martley, Knightwick and Doddenham Parish Councils have produced the document, after working with local communities and have now submitted it to Malvern Hills District Council for final public consultation.
This will start on Friday, May 12 and run to 5pm on Friday, June 23.
Once the consultation is completed the document will be subject to an independent examination and if approved, a referendum will be held.
If more than 50 per cent of voters in the parishes back the plan, it will become part of the development plan, sitting alongside the South Worcestershire Development Plan, and will be used when making future planning decisions regarding the Martley, Knightwick and Doddenham parishes.
Dr Stuart Cumella, chair of the Martley, Knightwick and Doddenham Neighbourhood Plan Steering Group, said: “We aim with this plan to maintain the beautiful rural landscapes of our three parishes while also supporting a safe and stimulating community for people of all ages who live and work in Martley, Knightwick and Doddenham.
“Once published, the Neighbourhood Plan will be a material consideration in the determination of planning applications and it will be a powerful tool in shaping the area.”
The plan is available to view online at www.malvernhills.gov.uk/neighbourhood-planning/ where people can also take part in the consultation by downloading and filling in the response form.
