THE OPENING date and time for Malvern’s Aldi has been announced by the discount supermarket giant.
The first customers can head through the doors at 8am on Thursday, December 15.
To celebrate the new official partnership between Aldi and ParalympicsGB, new manager Benjamin and his team will be joined by silver medalist Rebecca Redfern, who will be cutting the all-important ribbon on opening morning.
Rebecca will also give away complimentary bags of fresh fruit and vegetables from Aldi’s famous Super 6 range to the first 30 customers in the queue.
The partnership builds on Aldi’s existing sponsorship of Team GB, where they have supported Great Britain’s Olympic team and athletes since 2015. Aldi will be fuelling ParalympicGB athletes to success by providing all athletes with monthly food vouchers.
The new store will be run by manager Benjamin, along with a team of 30 colleagues from the local community.
In a welcome boost to the regional economy, Aldi is looking for up to eight new store assistants for the Malvern store.
It comes as Which? recently confirmed Aldi as the UK’s cheapest grocer on a basket of 48 everyday items with a price difference of £11.78 compared to Tesco, Asda, Morrisons and Sainsbury’s,
The new store will offer fresh, British meat products with weekly offers, Aldi’s award-winning ‘Specially Selected’ range, exclusive beers, wines and spirits, and a ‘food to go’ section at the front of the store.
The specialbuys – in the centre aisle – will also be available, changing every Thursday and Sunday.
Benjamin said: “We can’t wait to open the doors to the new store in Malvern.
“It’s set to be a special day and having Paralympic hero Rebecca Redfern join us will make it a morning to remember.”
Para-swimming star Rebecca added: “I’m so excited to be opening Aldi’s new store; it will be great to chat to customers and a lovely way for me to thank Aldi for its support of ParalympicsGB.”
Additionally, the new Aldi store is calling on local charities and food banks in Malvern to register with Neighbourly, a community engagement platform that links businesses to charitable organisations in the local community.
Local charities that register will be able to collect surplus food and perishable products, such as fruit, vegetables and baked goods, up to seven days a week.

The new store on Grovewood Road, Malvern, will open from 8am to 10pm Monday to Saturday and between 10am and 4pm on Sunday.
