LEDBURY pupils are now be able to take part in the Duke of Edinburgh programme at their school.

Teachers Maxine Dix and Trevor Kerr attended a prestigious awards ceremony at St James’ Palace in London to accept John Masefield High School’s licence which will allow them to deliver the programme and grant awards.

A spokeswoman said: “The licence was presented to Miss Dix and Mr Kerr by Phil Brown, the central England director of the Duke of Edinburgh Award in the Queen Room.

“After this Miss Dix and Mr Kerr were privileged to be in the company of young people from central England who received their gold awards. The young achievers had the opportunity to meet and talk to His Royal Highness, the Duke of Edinburgh.”
