A MALVERN based science and engineering company scooped two awards at the Hereford and Worcester Chamber of Commerce Business Awards.

Malvern Panalytical was nominated for Employer of the Year and Manufacturer of the Year, winning the employer category and placing second in the manufacturers category.

Due to winning the employer category, the business was put forward for Business of the Year and won, crowning them two time award winners at the Worcester Arena on Hylton Road on June 15.

The awards, hosted by Paul Sinha, recognised outstanding businesses in the Herefordshire and Worcesteshire regions.

Isla Buchanan, strategy program director at Malvern Panalytical, said: “I am so pleased that we have been recognised as Employer and Business of the Year.

“It’s an incredible feeling to receive such high praise from the judges and the Chamber of Commerce, and it is well-deserved by the entire team at Malvern Panalytical.

“This recognition is a true testament to how incredibly hard our people work every day to deliver quality products and services to our customers, and it highlights our commitment to nurturing a

positive work environment that is centred around our core values; Own it, Aim High and Be True.

“I’d like to thank everyone at the Chamber of Commerce for this honour and send our congratulations to the other award winners and runners-up.

“We are extremely proud to know that we are shaping the future for communities and businesses across Herefordshire and Worcestershire.”

The science and engineering firm has a rich history in Malvern, winning the prestigious MacRobert award for their development of the Malvern Correlator in the 1970’s.

The Malvern Correlator was the world’s first commercial, laser based particle-size analyser.

Other past winners of the MacRobert award, which is the UK’s longest running national prize for engineering innovation, include the designers of the Pegasus jet engine, catalytic converters, the roof of the Millenium Dome and intelligent prosthetic limbs.
