AFTER the completion of the first phase of works in Thirds Wood earlier this month, the second phase begins next week.
On Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, contractors will be back in the wood to thin some of the smaller and weaker trees to allow the healthier ones to grow without competition.
This follows on from the week-long closure of Jubilee Drive at the start of November to fell dangerous trees and the thinning of area known locally as ‘Little Switzerland’.
The next phase of work is being undertaken in a small area of the woodland so the Malvern Hills Trust, formerly the Conservators, will only be closing one path through Thirds Wood.
A Trust spokesperson said: “Please take notice of any signs within the woodland and follow their instruction for your safety.
“Also take heed of any instructions that are given to you by the woodland contractors.”
