ORGANISERS of the Upton Food and Beer Festival have announced the first six chefs to join the line up for next year’s event.

Rayeesa Asghar Sandys, Tom Court, Daren Bale, Felice Tocchini, Ali Imdad and Lizzy Hughes will all be entertaining visitors from June 29 to 29 on the Wots Cooking demonstration stage.

Rayeesa runs the first authentic Indian Cookery School in Herefordshire while using all the knowledge gained from studying in the Hyderabad region, legendary for its food of the ‘Raj’.

Tom Court has been the head chef at Shenstone’s Granary Hotel near Kidderminster for 12 years and is the proud owner of two AA Rosettes – a long established badge of honour which distinguishes restaurants as of the top ten per cent in the country.

Daren Bale currently runs The Hop Pole in Bewdley and has also been the recipient of two AA Rosettes during his time as head chef at Elms Hotel near Worcester.

Felice Tocchini will be another to bring an Italian flavour to the festival having being born in Luca. He now runs two county restaurants Fusion Brasserie and Fusion Too and is renowned for using fresh local produce with an Italian twist.

Many will recognise Ali Imdad as a former contestant on the increasingly popular Great British Bake Off series and his flair for combining flavours inspired by his travels and own culture.

Finally the town’s own Lizzy Hughes runs Our Lizzy Cookery School in Malvern Link and specialises in meat free, gluten free and vegan recipes.
