MYSTERY, suspense and spooky tales come alive in a thrilling new book written by a Malvern author.
Published by Aspect Design, Strange and Ghostly Tales is the latest title from retired psychiatric nurse Charles Barker-Holmes.
The book, which comes out next month, consists of a collection of creepy tales and ghost stories which have come through the imaginative and creative mind of Mr Barker-Holmes.
Strange and Ghostly Tales follows on from the author’s first book titled Mantis – another spooky thriller which was published in 2010.
He said: “I’ve always been fascinated with the supernatural and horror stories.
“When writing these stories in the book I imagined two simple words forming the basis of each tale. Those words being ‘what if’.
“For example, what if I set the scene of a lock-keeper’s cottage on a busy stretch of canal, busy, that is until nightfall when the canal falls quiet?
“And what if a certain bridge on that stretch of canal harbours something not of this world? Something that chills the very soul of the lock-keeper, standing alone on the two path on a dark and frosty night.
“These stories in this book are far more imaginative and unrestrained than my first book Mantis.”
Strange and Ghostly Tales is available to buy at the publisher’s office in Newtown Road priced at £7.99 or on Amazon.
