Stride out on the Malvern Hills for St Richard's Hospice

Malvern Editorial 10th Apr, 2018   0

FAMILIES and friends are being invited to stride out over the Malvern Hills for a fund-raising walk in aid of hospice care.

St Richard’s Hospice is hosting its Malvern Hills Walk once again on Saturday, May 19 with a two, five or 11-mile route available.

The walk is one of the most popular events run by St Richard’s and has been going every year since the charity was launched in 1984.

Last year, more than 500 walkers laced-up their boots for the event and raised more than £26,000 to support the charity’s care provided to patients, their loved ones and bereaved people across Worcestershire.

Jayne Sargeant, fund-raiser at St Richard’s, said: “We are so excited for this year’s Malvern Hills Walk.

“It is always such a fabulous event and has been so well supported over the years.

“Come along with your family, friends, colleagues, or enjoy a solo walk, and celebrate the spectacular scenery on our doorstep while raising money to support our care.”

Both the two and five-mile walks are circular, starting from 10am at Blackhill Car Park.

Entry fee is £10 for adults and £5 for under-16s.

The 11-mile walk will see participants trek the length of the hills from Chase End, starting at North Quarry Car Park.

There will be coaches provided from the car park to Chase End at 7.30am on the day.

Entry fee is £13 for adults and £6 for under 16s.

All those taking part pledge to raise £50 or more in sponsorship, supporting the hospice’s free care.

This year’s event is sponsored by Startin Skoda, Powick.
