A PAIR of former Abbey College students have been reunited after more than 60 years.
Elizabeth Lambden, who now lives in Canada, contacted her old classmates to inform them she was visiting England and to ask if anyone was available to meet up.
Fellow pupil Elizabeth Hall was more than happy to answer the call and the pair were taken on a tour of the Wells Road-based college where they shared stories with each other and staff members.
Mrs Lambden came to Abbey College at the age of seven in 1941 and remained there until 1949 while Mrs Hall arrived aged 13 in 1946 before leaving in 1951.
During that time Mrs Hall also took organ lessons with Sir Ivor Atkins who was knighted for his efforts in launching the Three Choirs Festival.
Jodie Varney, senior international recruitment officer at Abbey College, said: “It was wonderful to hear their fond memories of Abbey College and tales about the students and staff from so many years ago. We always welcome former students and their families. We would love to hear from other Abbey College alumni.”
