TEENAGERS across Worcester and Malvern are being offered the chance to discover how to survive a zombie apocalypse in one of a series of activity sessions this summer.
The Worcestershire Wildlife Trust is running a series of events aimed at giving teenagers a new range of skills.
From survival skills and bushcraft to night-time safaris and invertebrate investigations, there is something to inspire most teenagers.
Ben Rees, youth engagement officer for the county-wide nature conservation charity, said: “This is a great opportunity for any teens in the county to explore the outdoors, gain more confidence and learn some exciting and unusual skills.
“We’ll still be running events for families with younger children but this is a chance for teens to try their hands at something a bit different.
“Learning how to light fires or whittling your own tools from wood are important skills and are great fun.
“We’re also offering sessions on investigating invertebrates and tracking animals using tracks, trails and poo.”
The Trust is running six sessions over the summer holidays for teenagers aged 13 to 17 years old.
Parents are encouraged to leave the children with staff and volunteers running the sessions in order to give them the chance to really get immersed in the activities.
Four of the events will take place at Lower Smite Farm between Worcester and Droitwich Spa and two will take place at the Trust’s Knapp and Papermill nature reserve at Alfrick Pound.
Mr Rees added: “Whether teens just book onto one or the whole series, we guarantee they’ll learn new stuff and will have lots of fun along the way.”
