Development plans in Malvern Link tabled

Malvern Editorial 4th Jul, 2014 Updated: 20th Oct, 2016   0

PLANS have been unveiled for a development of upto 110 homes in Malvern Link.

Harris Lamb planning consultants presented the display boards to residents at Malvern Cricket Club on Friday (June 27).

The proposed scheme located on a 13.6 acre site opposite The New Inn would be accessed from Lower Howsell Road and back on to Vandra Close.

Revisions of the plans have seen a substantial plot of green open space move from a central position at the heart of the houses, to wrapping around homes to the current design which see it in the south east corner backing on to existing properties.

However despite sketches showing proposed layouts of the housing scheme, a spokeswoman from Harris Lamb confirmed developers Madresfield Estates would likely submit an application for outline planning permission to the district council first. It would see more detailed plans including the layout, submitted in a ‘reserved matters’ bid if the original proposal was accepted.

Coun Paul Tuthill who represents Malvern Link on the district council was present at the exhibition.

He said no-one had contacted him complaining about the proposals and added he could not say too much because of rules governing ‘pre-determination’ but added he would like to see allotments and bungalows included in the plans when they were formally entered to the council.
