Talk to be given tonight on Powick Hospital which closed its doors 30 years ago

A TALK will be given tonight on Powick Hospital which officially closed on March 7, 1989.

‘Remembering Powick Hospital’ will be given 30 years on by former Mental Health Nurse Ken Crump, at the George Marshall Medical Museum.

Ken will open the doors to the hospital in his own words and the presentation will be part of the Love Worcester Heritage Festival.

The talk, costing £5 (Concessions with ID £3.50) will start promptly at 6:45pm.




Ken said: “The museum’s half-term activities this year give the perfect opportunity to remember Powick Hospital thirty years after its closure.

“We’re also holding a reunion for former staff and patients of Powick Hospital at The Crown, Powick on Wednesday, March 27, from 10.30am to 12:30pm.


“All are welcome.”

The George Marshall Medical Museum is based at the Charles Hastings Education Centre on the site of the Worcestershire Royal Hospital.
