AN ITALIAN food market proved a hit with residents after returning to the town.
The Italia in Piazza stalls were set up on Great Malvern’s Abbey Road on Saturday (October 26) during the event organised by Malvern Hills District Council.
On offer at the market were freshly made breads, prosciutto, salami, extra virgin olive oils and calzoni pizza while visitors were able to immerse themselves in traditional Italian atmosphere thanks to accordionist Alan Smith playing at the spot.
Coun Phil Grove, responsible for economic development, said: “There’s always a vibrant atmosphere in town when Italia in Piazza is here.
“It’s a unique experience to be able to sample a slice of Italian cuisine on your doorstep like this, right in the heart of Great Malvern.
“The market’s popularity combined with the start of half term meant that there were a lot more people in the town centre, which is great for local businesses too as visitors to the market also tend to explore the local area and shops.”
