A GROUP of teenagers enjoyed a host of activities on their residential trip to Malvern thanks to a Worcestershire charity which supports teens with disabilities and additional needs.

Their recent trip to Malvern Outdoor Elements was organised by Worcestershire Parents and Carers’ Community (WPCC) – a county based charity which supports families who have one or more children with a disability or additional needs.

WPCC have a project specifically for young people aged 14-years-old and over.

It is designed to give young people with disabilities or additional needs a little more freedom, to develop their independence and provide opportunities for them to have fun with other young people.

Dominic Pugh, the group’s lead support worker and Graham Plumpton, a volunteer, both completed sponsored events to raise money to support the trip.

Dominic completed the Reebok Spartan Super Race, a gruelling 13km obstacle race, whilst Graham ran the London Marathon last year.

The Worcester Lions, who have supported the charity for several years, also gave a grant of £300 to help with the costs of the residential trip.

Sue Evans, from Worcestershire Parents & Carers Community, said: “We are very grateful to Dominic, Graham and the Worcester Lions for their support.

“As a charity, we rely heavily on fundraising to provide support and activities for families throughout Worcestershire, who have a child with disabilities and additional needs.”
