A NEW not-for-profit artisan store and creative hub in Tenbury Wells has celebrated a successful first month.

Teme Valley Artisans CIC opened its doors at 24 Market Street in Tenbury Wells and is already proving to be a thriving hub of creativity and community spirit.

The store formed by local creatives – Sarah Brooks of Sez Les Ceramics, Michael Palfrey of The Bee Fairy and Tracy Scully of Smitten – provides a space for local artisans to showcase their products.

As a community interest company, the three founders take out only what they have put in to get the project off the ground and for ongoing improvements. Artisan’s showcasing their work pay a fee and sales are distributed to them through the company.

Since opening on June, 22 local artisans have joined the collective, each bringing their own unique skills and handcrafted products to the shop.

Visitors can discover everything from ceramics, silver jewellery, and textiles to woodwork, home décor, and wellbeing items — all lovingly handmade within the region.

The Teme Valley Artisans CIC isn’t just about selling beautiful creations, though. It’s also a space for learning and collaboration.

The first artisan workshop — “Top Tips for Social Media Success” — has already been held, helping makers build their online presence.

More workshops for the artisan community are in the pipeline, as well as sessions open to the general public, covering a range of arts and crafts for all abilities.

“We’ve been overwhelmed by the support from the local community, fellow traders, and the talented artisans who have joined us,” said the CIC team.

“Our goal was to create a space where creativity thrives, where local makers can showcase their work, and where visitors can discover something truly unique.”

“The first month has surpassed our expectations, and we can’t wait to see what’s next.”

The shop is open Tuesday to Saturday from 10am to 4pm, and Sundays from 11am to 3pm.
