Thanks for a grand effort

Malvern Editorial 18th Dec, 2013 Updated: 20th Oct, 2016

THE MAYOR has thanked generous members of the public who have contributed towards a charity sum of £1,025 over the festive period.

The money has been raised by town traders purchasing star lights as well as collections from the Christmas light switch-on and Autumn in Malvern’s concert at the Tewkesbury Abbey.

Yesterday (Tuesday), mayor Julian Roskams handed over the money to his nominated charity of the year Malvern Special Families, which supports more than a 100 families in Malvern and Worcester helping them provide a safe and caring environment for children and young people with disabilities and special needs.

Mark Wilson, trustee for Malvern Special Families, said: “We are extremely grateful to mayor Julian Roskams for his fantastic support throughout the last year and that combined with the continued support of the many friends of the Malvern Special Families will enable us to extend our services going forward.”
