A NEW stage adaption of The Lavender Hill Mob is set to come to Malvern Theatres between November 7 and 12.
The play will star comedy actors Miles Jupp, who has previously starred in Balamory, Johnny English and Do Not Disturb and Justin Edwards, from The Trip.
A fast-paced comedy for all, the play tells the story of Henry Holland, an unassuming bank clerk who dreams of stealing the van full of gold bullion he drives across London each day.
He soon discovers a golden opportunity to pull off his dream crime, but twists and turns in the play may make the theft not as easy as Henry once thought.
The stage adaptation is based on the 1951 screenplay by T.E.B. Clarke, which originally starred Audrey Hepburn, Alec Guinness and Stanley Holloway.
Miles Jupp said: “I loved the Lavender Hill Mob when I first saw it – I love Phil Porter’s ingenious adaptation of it – I have loved every Jeremy Sams production I’ve seen – I love working with Justin Edwards and I absolutely love being part of an ensemble onstage.”
The show will start at 7.30pm and will have two matinee performances on Thursday and Saturday.
