THE OWNER of a Malvern Link cafe will be hosting a supper club to raise essential funds for a town charity which supports Syrian refugees.
Max Holt, who runs The Vintage Coffee Shop on Worcester Road, is providing the Syrian Supper Club next week to fund-raise for People in Motion.
Taking place on Friday, October 20 and Saturday, October 21 from 7pm to 9pm, Max will be serving up a variety of Syrian dishes as part of a three-course meal with all profits being donated to charity.
The 20-year-old hopes to raise several hundreds of pounds over the two days as well as boosting his knowledge of Syrian cuisine.
Speaking to the Observer, Max said: “We held a garden party with a Syrian buffet before and almost 80 people turned out and we raised close to £800 for People in Motion.
“The refugee crisis is shocking and I thought with the space I have available to me I can do my part by hosting more events to raise money for them.
“I like to push myself with cooking and Syrian food is something I have never cooked before.
“If I can do my bit to help People in Motion while practicing cooking and trying something new then I am all for that.”
Spaces for Friday’s meal are fully booked, however, there are still some seats available for Saturday.
