Thinking inside the box

Malvern Editorial 5th Nov, 2013 Updated: 20th Oct, 2016

A WORKSHOP will be held on Saturday (November 9) for anyone taking part in Christ Church’s Operation Christmas Child.

The project sees generous people fill in and wrap up shoeboxes which are dropped off at venues including the Avenue Road church to be sent to youngsters all around the world.

The workshop will take place between 10am and 12pm and there will be coffee and cake on offer for visitors.

Angie Green, deacon and events coordinator at Christ Church, said: “We have been supporting this wonderful idea for nearly 20 years now and during this time have sent thousands of boxes.

“It is such a simple idea but the impact has been amazing. They are a ‘box of delights’ for a child when they open it for the first time, wide-eyed with wonder.”

Boxes can also be dropped off on at the regular Friday morning coffee shops between 10am and 12pm.

On Sunday, November 24, there will be a service at 11am where Canon Harold Goddard will bless the boxes.
