THIS weekend sees The Cube host the town’s first ever Malvern Festival of Cycling, complete with big screen to catch all the Tour de France action.
The free family day at the Albert Road North community centre takes place on Sunday.
Cyclists and non-cyclists are welcome to enjoy the bike-friendly activities.
Cube manager Jon White said: “I confess to be a bit of a cycle nut myself, so it will be great to see bike enthusiasts young and old at the Cube on Sunday.”
There’s something for everyone from an unrideable bike, a tyre changing race, a have-a-go turbo trainer, cycling wear, Halfords’ repair gazebo, Solo Circus UK’s mini penny-farthing and a uni-bike.
Tristan Grinnall, store manager at Malvern Halfords, said: “We are delighted to be at the Cube, joining in the fun bringing some of our bikes and equipment.”
“It’s amazing how popular cycling is.
“In England alone around 2.5 million people over 16 cycle at least three times a week so it’s brilliant to have a community event to celebrate the Tour de France’s last day.
“Let’s hope we retain the yellow jersey.”
The Cube’s Garden Café will be open for business along with the Pork Peddler, there will be local ales and ciders from Malvern Cellar and music will have a distinct bike flavour.
