TRIBUTES have been paid to a popular member of staff at Malvern Hills District Council who has died aged 61.
Sian Hughes, who lived in Gloucester, was a conservation officer and senior planning officer in conservation and landscape.
She joined MHDC in 2013.
Coun Barbara Williams, chair of the council, said: “Sian was a valued member of the planning team and will be missed by all the colleagues, particularly those in the departments where she worked.
“Sian was well liked and well respected in her professional capacity and her passion of conservation and heritage issues was evident to all that came to contact with her.
“The council pass its condolences to Sian’s family at this sad time.”
Coun Melanie Baker, portfolio holder for planning services, added: “We are all deeply shocked and saddened by Sian’s death.
“She was a popular member of staff and a real asset to the council.
“Her loss is felt not only by her colleagues but also by the many members of the public she came into contact with and who she went the extra mile to help.”
