IT WAS party time at Malvern’s Cartwright Court where resident Trudie Haines celebrated her 100th birthday in style.
Homeowners and staff at the McCarthy and Stone Assisted Living development on Victoria Road presented Trudie with a three-tier birthday cake last Thursday and made sure glasses were filled with fizz for the evening’s celebrations, which were also enjoyed by her friends and family.
Live music was provided by Trudie herself, as she entertained her guests with a special piano performance.
Trudie said: “I had the most wonderful birthday! While it was indeed a pleasure to receive my birthday card from the Queen, having the opportunity to celebrate this great landmark with my nearest and dearest was the best present I could have wished for.
“I am so grateful to the friends that I have made here at Cartwright Court for organising this terrific party in my honour, and to McCarthy and Stone for its contribution to the event. It all goes to show how strong the sense of community spirit at Cartwright Court is.”
Robert Monkman from McCarthy and Stone West Midlands, added: “It was fantastic to help Trudie and her friends and family mark this special occasion with homeowners and the team here at Cartwright Court.
“There is a wonderful community of friendly neighbours at the development and it is great to see everyone celebrating together and taking the opportunity to mark this incredible milestone.”
