FORMER Stars In Their Eyes and You Bet host Matthew Kelly is to open St Richard’s Hospice’s new bookshop in Malvern Link on Friday.
The charity announced the celebrity opening earlier today (Wednesday) on its Twitter page.
Kelly, known to millions of TV viewers for presenting the former ITV karaoke show on Saturday nights, is currently performing one of the main roles in Richard Bean’s theatre production of ‘Toast’ at Malvern Theatres.
St Richard’s Hospice will open its Worcester Road store at 9.30am which offers a plethora of pre-loved books, music and films.
The hospice’s store has undergone a major refit over recent months following the launch of its department store across the road which has been labelled a huge success since opening last November.
And the charity, which provides care for people with life-limiting illnesses, is on the hunt for people who have a spare few hours a week to help out with both stores..
Commercial director Danny Corns said: “At St Richard’s we are keen to learn lessons from the wider retail sector and are keen to offer our supporters a pleasant, modern shopping experience.
“We have developed a very successful chain of shops across the county and are very grateful for the dedication of our volunteers and the local community who generously support the hospice.”
Anybody wanting to volunteer is asked to call into the shop to chat with the manager.
