A FORMER UKIP Parliamentary candidate has joined the Liberal Democrats ahead of May’s Malvern Hills District Council elections.
Caroline Bovey was the UKIP candidate for West Worcestershire in the last two General Elections but has been selected by the Lib Dems to contest the Pickersleigh ward in the upcoming event.
Malvern’s Liberal Democrat leader Coun Tom Wells said: “We are all delighted to welcome Caroline Bovey to our team.
“She is a vastly experienced politician and will be an excellent councillor for the people of Pickersleigh.”
Ms Bovey, who left UKIP about three years ago, added: “The Liberal Democrats have a proven track record in Malvern and years of experience working for the Pickersleigh community.
“I am very much looking forward to being a part of the team that builds on that in the future.”
