A BODY has been recovered from the River Severn in Upton-upon-Severn following searches for a 19-year-old man who went missing there on Saturday (October 7).
West Mercia Police confirmed at the weekend the emergency services were searching the River Severn for a man who had entered the water near Upton Bridge in the early hours of Saturday morning.
Police search officers, along with a police helicopter and fire service colleagues were immediately deployed in search of the missing man.
A number of people from the Upton-upon-Severn community also offered to help in the search and they were thanked by West Mercia Police for their offers.
Following the find, announced today, formal identification of the body has yet to take place.
Specially trained police officers have been supporting the man’s family since he went missing on Saturday.
