TRAVELLERS who sparked concerns when they arrived on Victoria Park on Saturday have now left.
The news was confirmed by police on @MalvernCops on Twitter last night (Tuesday, June 17) about 11pm.
A post on the popular feed which has more than 1,600 followers said: “PCSO Tudge reports that the group camped on Victoria Park have moved on this evening.”
An hour later another post confirmed Malvern Town Council which owns Victoria Park, had re-secured the site and would be returning this morning to clean it up.
The vehicles caused concerns among local residents when they arrived on the park on Saturday evening (June 14), and several incidents of anti-social behaviour were reported to police, who subsequently issued ‘behaviour contracts’ to individuals.
Officers stepped up patrols in the area while continuing to liaise with the town council which confirmed it was seeking legal action.
But it appears the travellers have left voluntarily.
At the end of the month on Saturday, June 28 Victoria Park will host a charity fundraiser for Armed Forces Day.
