A MAJOR £2million investment in Upton’s road links should encourage town business to go for growth, according to West Worcestershire MP Harriett Baldwin.
Worcestershire LEP has funded road improvements along the A4104 to protect it from flooding and the county council is also investigating a roundabout with the A38 to improve traffic flows to Worcester, Pershore and the motorway.
And now the MP has met with district councillors Jeremy Owenson, Andrea Morgan and Mike Morgan to discuss plans for further growth across the area.
“The major investment in infrastructure is really important for Upton’s businesses and tourist trade and once this first phase of work is completed, it will make a huge difference to flood resilience on the road into town,” she said.
“Our local councillors are now going out and getting feedback on how to make the most of this investment and develop a comprehensive local plan.
“This is a wider piece of work to help Upton’s community and its businesses to thrive and grow and I fully support the councillors’ efforts to develop this plan.”
