THE long awaited return of the Upton Triathlon has been announced after a two year hiatus.
Competitors can register for a place in the race happening on July 13, 2024.
The triathlon consists of a 1.5 km swim in the River Severn, a 40 km bike ride through the Worcestershire countryside, and a 10 km run through the streets of Upton.
Organisers say triathletes, fitness enthusiasts and the local community have been eagerly awaiting the return of the regions triathlon after it’s temporary absence.
The event, which has gained a reputation for its challenging course, is set to reclaim a spot as a staple in the Worcester sporting calender.
Alongside the triathlon, there will also be a duathlon featuring a 2.5km run, a 21.5km bike ride, and a 5km run, as well as a children’s fun run.
Cheer zones, entertainment, and local food vendors will be scattered throughout the course and spectators are encouraged to join in the festivities and support the athletes along the route.
Registrations will open on September 1, with early-bird incentives for those who sign up promptly.
