Upturn prompts opening hours change

AN INDEPENDENT trader in Great Malvern is marking an eight year success story by opening seven days a week due to popular demand.

Iapetus Gallery on Belle Vue Terrace has seen a steady upturn in trade and will now be open on Sundays between 11am and 3pm.

Anna Brook, co-director of the store which specialises in crafted gift items, said: “Since the beginning of the year there has been a real increase in both footfall and customers’ willingness to shop.

“We’ve resisted opening on a Sunday as, like many independent businesses, it is difficult to staff without impacting on personal lives.

“However, our customers have been asking for us to open, and we’ve certainly noticed a greater number of visitors in the town on the weekend so we felt now was the time to trial it.

“Opening on Sunday will also be more convenient for our customers to click and collect their online purchases from iapetus.co.uk, a trend we’re seeing a big increase in.”
