DAMAGE costing at least £8,000 has been caused by vandals at a golf club near Malvern.

The incident happened between 12am and 6am on Tuesday, October 29, at The Worcestershire Golf Club when offenders forced their way into the sheds and removed three golf buggies, driving off in them.

A West Mercia Police spokesman said: “Having taken the three buggies, it appears the offenders drove them recklessly around the course and caused damage to a number of items of property including flag sticks on six greens and fencing in several places.

“After the offenders had finished with the buggies it seems they were then dumped.”

One was found in a pond, the second damaged beyond repair and a third burnt out and completely destroyed, with officials believing the incident will cost the club at least £8,000.

Anyone with any information should call police on 101, quoting incident number 65S 291013, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
