A SPECIAL video was created by Malvern Male Voice Choir for members who lost relatives in the two World Wars ahead of Remembrance Sunday.
The short ‘Bring Him Home’ film – which can be viewed above – was put together by choir member Tarquin Shaw-Young. It featured pictures of the fallen, accompanied by their names and ranks, along with dates and places where they served and where they were buried.
Yesterday the choir held its annual commemoration for Armistice at the Church of the Ascension, Somers Park Avenue.
The occasion was entitled ‘I’m a Goin’ Home’ and the words of the beautiful song were adapted from Dvorak’s ‘New World’ Symphony.
A wide range of songs, readings and hymns were linked to themes of conflict, peace, longing for home and devotion.
The performance also included a new song commissioned by the Choir for this, its centenary year, which was based on the themes of the epic visionary poem ‘Piers the Ploughman’ of William Langland.
The evening concluded with an Act of Remembrance.
