Vintage fair is regularly 'heaving'

PEOPLE of all tastes and ages enjoyed the town’s vintage, retro and craft fair, with some stall holders hailing it the best yet.

A total of 20 stalls lined Abbey Road in Malvern on Saturday, May 23, for the monthly event, which attracted hundreds of collectors, vintage-lovers and bargain hunters.

Items on sale ranged from 18th century pots and old stamp books to jewellery and designer clothes.

Pam Difford, of Malvern Vintage, which organised the event, said the fair was becoming a ‘popular feature of Great Malvern’.

“It went really well,” she said. “We put up marquees so people would be able to keep dry, but because the weather was beautiful we came out from under the marquees and it was absolutely wonderful.

“We are now developing a regular trade. We only started last Autumn, but some of our stallholders are saying that people are looking for the date and we have even had people asking whether we would be able to hold it every week.

“We only have 20 stalls, but we have such an eclectic mix of items, which people love.

“It is not just vintage as there is everything from 18th century items to modern-day clothes, which cost from a pound to up to the hundreds of pounds.

“Somebody was selling old newspaper, while another had old trains sets, vintage toys and some stamp albums, so there was a real mix.

“I had my best fair and I know I am not the only person to say that as it was really was heaving.”

The Vintage, Retro and Craft Fair will return to Abbey Road today (Saturday) with the public able to take advantage of the free event from 10am.
