PATIENT satisfaction at Malvern’s Minor Injuries Unit is very high according to the latest survey.
The average waiting time at the Worcester Road site is currently 16 minutes and health chiefs are urging more people to take advantage of the service to relieve pressure at accident and emergency departments, where waiting times are considerably longer.
The MIU can treat a wide range of injuries including cuts, grazes, wounds, sprains and minor burns although people with conditions such as colds, coughs, urine, chest and ear infections should still go to the pharmacy or contact their GP at first.
Sara Taylor, MIU team leader at Worcestershire Health and Care Trust, said 89 per cent of patients had highly recommended attending the MIU.
She added: “Most patients are happy because they are in and out before they have time to pay for parking. Our service is regularly audited to ensure we are providing a good standard of service.”
Malvern MIU is open from 9am to 12.30pm and 1.30pm to 9pm, seven days a week.
