Walk against cable car bid

Malvern Editorial 11th Sep, 2015 Updated: 20th Oct, 2016   0

A WALK demonstrating opposition to the controversial cable car project is set to take place on the Malvern Hills.

The Voice of Malvern Hills, which was set up on the back of Malvern for All’s proposals to build on the hills, will play host to the event on Sunday, September 27.

Starting points will be at 11am from North Quarry and 11.30am from Wyche Car Park before finishing at the Worcestershire Beacon.

Richard Edwards, chair of the group, said: “We oppose the development on the hills and that is why we are doing the walk, but we are also trying to promote a better understanding of the hills for the general public.

“Quite apart from the cable car issue I think it is still a good thing to have regular events taking place so people can find out about the hills.”
